Through darkened paths strays.

The colours and lights, dance, and glow,

Hiding the gnawing pain in her silent dream.

Donning the attire, a mask she wears,

Concealing the sorrow, the weight she bears.

Familiar faces, yet strangers to her,

In chatter and noise, she's just a blur.

High heels click, glasses clink, wine flows,

Smoke swirls with her thoughts.

But beneath the facade, a void so deep,

In the city's pulse, her secrets keep.

Beneath the dark night, she waits alone,

Yearning for a better dawn, a light to be shown.

A sleepless soul in a restless town, just wants,

A world of her own.

A world where her wild heart runs,

Untamed, untethered.

Trying to shed the black, and embrace the hues,

But the eyes around her yet refuse.

Invisible she remains, unseen, unheard again,

As the world spins on, her spirit hides on.

No one sees the black in her, the shadows she's known,

Only the glimmer of lights shines on her.
